Quests

Quests in Zombiemud are a side system that rewards you by lowering level costs. They start easy and get very hard. Since you can only complete one per level and they lower the cost of gaining levels it is very common during a reinc to try and get through as many levels as possible.

The normal formula is 'request' a quest, complete it, 'advance' a level, rinse and repeat.

There are times when a quest is too hard, in which case you can 'request 2', which will give you a second quest, but the reward will be reduced by 50%.

If you advance with a quest uncompleted, it remains. If however you advance with two quests, the first is droped and the second becomes your first, allowing you to 'request 2' again. If you compelte your secondary quest and 'advance', your first is also removed, allowing you to 'request' a new full point quest.

So the modified formula is 'request' if it'd completeable, do so and 'advance'. If it's too hard, 'request 2'. If this one is doable, complete it and start over. If howver it too is too hard, 'advance' and 'request 2', you'll get no qps for this level, but atleast you'll get a new quest.

There are some sites with cut and paste instructions on completeing each quest (notably http://www2.hawaii.edu/~dashman/zombiemud2/quests.html) however many think it takes away a fun aspect of the game.

On the Quest List page we list the quests, then provide hints. This site should not include "cut and paste" solutions as it's frowned upon by the wizes:

Explicit tells you 'cut&paste info is never good. Means some people will never learn because they're lazy'
